
Turkey reiterated anew its full support to all measures taken by Bahrain to boost its security, stability and development. This stance was underlined by the Turkish parliamentary delegation, currently on a visit to Bahrain.The delegation stressed solid historic relations between the two friendly countries, adding that Bahrain and Turkey are bound by strong common interests and that Turkey rejects any foreign threat or internal upheaval that encroaches on the sovereignty and independence of Bahrain.They affirmed that Turkey is fully aware of the substantial and pioneering democratic reforms spearheaded by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. They lauded development in Bahrain and the kingdom's efforts to promote its diplomatic relations with the rest of the world.This came at the Bahraini-Turkish Friendship Committee meeting which convened yesterday at the delegation's residence. The Turkish delegation is headed by Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly Cemil Ciçek and comprises MPs from various parties and parliamentary blocs.The Bahraini delegation stressed at the meeting Bahrain's respect and appreciation of the Turkish stance, underscoring the need to bolster parliamentary and economic cooperation between the two friendly countries. They highlighted Bahrain's numerous gains since the National Action Charter and the constitution were approved by a sweeping majority of the Bahraini people.They also spotlighted Bahrain's achievements in the legislative and human rights fields and the efforts made to debunk fallacies being spread by some countries, organisations and mass media about Bahrain.
