Turkish automotive supply industry grows 10% in 2013

Turkey's automotive industry grew ten percent in 2013, faster than any other sector in the country. According to data from the Automotive Manufacturers' Association (OSD), released last week, Turkey's earnings increased from $8bn in 2012 to $9bn in 2013. Exports of components and spare parts ($7 billion) made up the bulk of the earnings, with the rest coming from tire components, engines, batteries and glass. According to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat), Turkey's total export volume was $151.7 billion in 2013.
