A US.envoy says talks on delivering food aid to North Korea made progress, though details still must be worked out. Special envoy Robert King called the day-and-a-half of talks with North Korean officials in Beijing productive and positive but did not announce an agreement Thursday. Instead, King says he will return to Washington to discuss the outcome and that both sides are still trying to resolve details on the food assistance. The talks follow a deal announced last week in which the US offered the 240,000 tons of food aid in return for North Korea freezing long-range missile and nuclear tests and for halting a uranium enrichment program that would be monitored by UN inspectors.
