His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa held today a meeting with Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud at Al-Salam Palace in Jeddah, in the presence of Saudi Crown Prince, Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
HM the King congratulated King Salman on the holy month of Ramadan, wishing him abundant health and happiness, more progress and prosperity to both countries and peoples and further development for the Arab and Islamic nation. He thanked the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for the good welcome and hospitality which reflected deep-rooted and solid fraternal relations between the two brotherly countries.

King Salman welcomed HM the King, hailing his visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and lauding distinguished ties binding both countries.

HM the King reviewed with the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques strong historic relations between both countries and their perpetual growth in all fields. They also discussed joint efforts to bolster strategic cooperation on regional issues in order to achieve common interests and boost the GCC march.

Both leaders stressed common and unflinching keenness to further cement bilateral relations and enhance cooperation at all levels.

HM King Hamad affirmed that historic relations between the two royal families and peoples have always constituted the pillars of relations between the countries in the region and are still playing a major role in fostering cohesion between them. He asserted that the collective steps taken by Bahrain, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Egypt were necessary to face challenges.

HM the King underscored the unwavering commitment of Bahrain and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to rallying ranks and stances, further strengthening the Gulf Cooperation Council and promoting growth and prosperity. He praised the great international respect enjoyed by King Salman for his noble stances and obvious contributions in supporting Arab and Islamic issues. He also commended the pioneering role of King Salman in boosting cooperation between countries in the world and fostering communication and co-existence between different cultures and peoples on the basis of tolerance, mutual respect and peace. He lauded the positive results of the historic summits hosted by Riyadh, including the GCC-US Summit and the Arab Islamic-US Summit.

HM King Hamad affirmed Bahrain’s keenness on peace and welfare for all, stressing its full support to Saudi Arabia in its efforts to maintain security and stability and deter attempts to wreak chaos.

Both leaders spotlighted the overall regional, Arab and international developments and issues of common concern.

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques hosted an Iftar banquet in honour of HM the King.
