
Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C. (Alba)’s Information Technology Department continues to win accolades as department manager Esam Hadi won the CIO of the Year Award at the 9th Annual Arabian Computer News Arab Technology Awards 2013 held recently at the JW Marriott Marquis Dubai, UAE. Hadi was recognised for his role in steering the Alba IT Team in implementing appropriate, innovative and cost effective solutions that enable the company to perform efficiently, to achieve its business goals as well as to continuously improve processes through automation. Commenting on Esam Hadi’s CIO of the Year Award, Alba’s Chief Executive Officer, Tim Murray said: "I would like to congratulate Esam on winning this award and providing Alba with another reason to be proud. This major award clearly demonstrates that the IT Department is on a winning streak by continuing to uphold its key principles – speed, agility and simplicity. Esam has played a key role in leading such an award winning team and I am confident that the team will achieve many more accolades in the future." As part of his professional responsibilities, Hadi is responsible for managing the technology infrastructure and applications required for plant operations and business management systems. He is a board member of the SAP Users Group (Middle East and North Africa), where he serves as director of events and programmes. Hadi is also the chairman of the Technology and Business Society.
